The Muslim community in Telangana mainly votes for the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslameen (AIMIM). AIMIM is a Muslim majority party, founded after independence, AIMIM won 7 seats in the 2018 Telangana Legislative Assembly elections, which is 20.2% of the total 119 seats. The floor leader of the party is Akbaruddin Owaisi, who is the MLA from the Chandrayangutta constituency in Hyderabad.

In the 2023 Telangana assembly elections, AIMIM has advocated for Muslim reservation. The party has said that the Muslim community needs reservation to access education and job opportunities in the state. AIMIM has also said that it will work to maintain communal harmony and peace in Telangana.

Both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress have also tried to woo the Muslim vote bank. The BJP has promised to end Muslim reservation, while the Congress has said it will work for the welfare of the Muslim community.

However, AIMIM has a strong hold on the Muslim vote bank. The party has long worked for the Muslim community and advocates for Muslim issues. For this reason, it is likely that the Muslim community will vote for AIMIM. During the Congress rule, four percent reservation was given to the Muslim community is also a important factor for Congress.

However, it is also possible that some Muslim voters may vote for the Congress or the BJP. Some Muslim voters may be swayed by the development agenda of the BJP, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has touted in recent days as a Pasmanda Muslim, while others may be swayed by the social justice agenda of the Congress.

Ultimately, it will depend on the voters which party they vote for, whether the factor of development, religion or regional party will work.
